The Kansas City Athletic Club (KC Athletics) is a true Kansas City club and serves players across the entire KC metro area through the four Regions (South, East, North, West) and the Academy Program.
KC Athletics players will train within the Region in which they reside through the U12 age group. This will keep players “local” and consolidate travel challenges. Top players from each Region will then be filtered into the club’s Academy Teams at U13 and older.
KC Athletics will offer both Academy level and non-Academy level teams in the older age groups (U13-U19). The non-Academy level teams will be referred to as our Championship Teams.
The Academy Elite and Premier teams will train together at the Academy Training Center. The club will, therefore, field multiple teams in each age group in a true tiered format. See more info on each level below.
The top teams in the Girls U13 to U19 age groups will participate in the ECNL which is regarded as one of the most competitive league platforms for girls in the country. We participate in the Midwest Conference. As well as Conference play, ECNL offers National Showcases to provide exposure to some of the best collegiate programs in the country. Commitment levels and expectations are high for ECNL players. Teams will practice a minimum of 3 times per week throughout the fall season and 2 times per week in the winter season. ECNL players will break for the spring high school season.
These teams will train at the same location and at the same time as the ECNL teams during the fall and spring seasons (where applicable). Coaches will be encouraged to move appropriate players to the national ECNL program for practices and/or games. Our vision is for a fluid movement of players, allowing for developing players to transition seamlessly between teams. For the 2020-2021 season, our Academy Premier Girls' teams will compete in the ECNL Regional League. A high commitment level is still required for this category as they will practice alongside the ECNL teams with 2 required training sessions per week with a 3rd optional one. Winter training will consist of 2 sessions per week. In many ways, these teams will be regarded as an extension of the ECNL teams in the Midwest Conference. More info on the Heartland regional ECNL league.
Just like the girls, the club offers two tiers for Academy boys' teams: Academy Elite & Premier. These teams will train at the same location and at the same time. Coaches will be encouraged to move appropriate players to the Elite program for practices and/or games. Our vision is for a fluid movement of players; therefore, allowing for developing players to transition seamlessly between teams. When available, our Academy Elite teams will compete in the National League Midwest Conference along with higher level tournaments and showcases. A high commitment level is required for this category as the Academy Boys' teams will practice 3 times per week during outdoor seasons and 2 times per week during the winter. The third night of outdoor training for the Academy Premier teams is optional, but highly encouraged. Academy Elite and Premier teams will participate in Kansas or Missouri State or President's Cup.
Our Championship teams will participate in high level local leagues or potentially National League Midwest Conference for some teams. Some of these teams will likely participate in the Kansas or Missouri State or President Cups.
Kansas City Athletic Club will strive to offer teams in each region (East, South, North, and West) to meet the needs of our u9-u12 players. These teams will compete at appropriate levels for league play as well as tournaments. The goal of the club is to grow and develop players regionally prior to players and teams then funnelling into our Championship and Academy teams for ages u13-19.
KC Athletics offers a unique Pre-Competitive program for players ages 7-10. The intent of this program is to serve as a bridge between recreational soccer and competitive soccer. Players will play fall, winter, and spring seasons training once per week with the option for a 2nd night of training. Pre-competitive teams will be under the supervision of the club's regional directors and utilize current KC Athletics players or other coaches as part of the coaching staff. Games will be played at the new Home Field Complex at 5000 Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137.
Our Futures Program is designed to introduce players (ages 3-6) to the beautiful game. Training will be offered in various locations around the city thus allowing options close to home for as many players as possible. Teams will play in Kansas City's Youth Development League at the Home Field Complex at 5000 Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137. Our Futures program will also have a Training Only option.
