CLUB HISTORY

The club was originally founded in 2013 by Brad Likens to develop players alongside the FCKC Professional Women’s Team. Likens was part of the original ownership group of the pro club. In the Spring of 2015, three other clubs, Futura Futbol Club, Blue Moose Soccer Club, and Freebird Soccer Club joined FCKC youth club. Vlatko Andonovski assumed the role as the club’s Technical Director with Keith Nelson, Brad Childers and Goran Hunjak serving as members of the director's staff.

In the fall of 2015, the club launched launched thrid Academy system. Then in 2018, the club was re-branded from FCKC to Kansas City Athletic Club. As part of the new association, the club joined the ECNL girls program for the Fall 2018 season. Following the Spring 2020 season, KC Athletics merged with SDB Academy, growing the boys' programs significantly.

KANSAS CITY ATHLETICS strives to create a soccer centered community that holistically approaches developing both the player and the person. We want to Inspire our athletes to have a PASSIONATE love of the game, be fierce COMPETITORS who are people of INTEGRITY displaying RESPECT on and off the field.


CLUB VISION


The club’s goal is to establish a strategic structure and player experience that will help establish a “destination club” which serves players of ALL ability ranges. The club will provide a seamless training system to help players transition from recreational soccer to high level youth soccer.

Kansas City Athletic Club will not be an organization that caters to the so-called top teams only. The club's goal is to provide the appropriate attention to all of its teams.
