Duke grew up playing soccer in Omaha, NE helping his club team, the Olympia Hawks, win two State Cup titles (1982, 1984), while also being chosen twice to the Nebraska Select team.  He went on to lead Omaha Creighton Prep HS to back-to-back State championships, earning 1st Team All-State honors as a senior. After continuing his soccer career at Rockhurst University, he later helped start up Liberty United FC (LUFC) in the KC Northland.   Duke and his wife Amy then founded Freebird Soccer (2011-2015), the first “all girls” soccer club in Kansas City.  After the club grew from 4 to 12 teams, Duke merged Freebird with FCKC to give his players Academy opportunities they might not have had with their small, independent club.

Duke and Amy are the parents of two KC Athletics alumni – Austin (’19), who recently played 4 years at Culver-Stockton College, and Maya (’21), who just finished playing her junior year at Arkansas State – along with one current KC Athletics player, Layla (’27), who plays for Duke’s ECNL RL (Premier) 08G team.            KCA Coaching Accomplishments
